Okay, okay, I've been reading rather than writing. Sorry all of you who are SO anxious for my updates. At least I'm not behind on my Goodreads profile--hee, hee. I've been reading a LOT of good (and not as good) books lately--about 25 since my last entry. My family has been very neglected and think I'm a mad woman locked in my room so much of the time. It's good to make them wonder...
So, since I last wrote anything of importance, school got out (yeah!), John has been home more (yeah!), Kalin and Alex went to scout camp with John (yeah!), I actually exercised 3 times last week (yeah!), and John and Kalin left for New Mexico yesterday (yeah!). They are going to the Philmont ranch in northern NM for a week of scout leadership training (John) and a 50 mile backpacking trip (Kalin).
The coolest thing happened last week the first day John and I went for a walk in the morning. We were almost back home and passed one of our neighbor's houses where she was coming out to go to work. She hasn't lived there very long so we said hello. She asked us if we knew anyone who wanted a free table. I was thinking a small side table or small kitchen table, but we stopped to take a look. Surprisingly, it was a dining table with a leaf, not very old, just a few dings, with the natural finish like the chairs I have. I have been wanting a bigger table for a while--especially with the boys getting bigger and needing more leg room--they tend to fight for space. I couldn't believe it! A free table that matches! She said with her work she gets free furniture all the time, so she could just give it away. As we left to get the car to bring it back, I said to John, "We must be paying our tithing." Mary said the same thing when I told her. Thanks for small blessings. If we had walked by any later, or even any earlier, we wouldn't have seen her. Crazy how things happen, but you won't hear me complain!
Sadly, I'll be missing my 20 year class reunion this Saturday. I've only made it to the 5 year reunion, and then only for about 20 minutes. Part of me is glad, though, because I've changed so much physically, and definitely not for the good. I would love to see all my friends. It's just not the same just writing e-mails. At least now I can get e-mail addresses and find out what everyone is up to. Am I really old enough for this? My dad put it into perspective for me when I talked to him last night. He said my oldest brother was missing his 35th class reunion this week. Now that's old!

Hey Janis!
I missed the reunion, too, but now that I have read the class website and found your blog link, I can at least get caught up on the Janis Chronicles. :-)
Tell your hubby I said Hi.
Sharee
Janis, I like your story about the table. It is neat how sometimes things come to us like that.
Just a side note on the Honda Accord, I was able to sell it to someone who is going to fix the head gasket, so its life in this life will continue.
